Västanvinden Sessions Vol. III – Värmland, is the third release in a trilogy by Swedish folk trio Västanvinden. Rooted in the musical traditions of the region Värmland, the album was recorded together with producer Petter Berndalen using a method where, due to extensive preparation, the sound was finished as it was played – no post-production, no edits. The result is a vibrant, unfiltered sound that captures the trio’s dynamic interplay and deep musical connection.
Västanvinden is a Swedish folk trio known for their vibrant, danceable music and tight interplay. Since forming in 2019, they’ve played all over Sweden, from dance halls and festivals to the Royal Palace, and have also toured in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Their sound blends individual instruments into a seamless whole, creating bold yet refined arrangements that are unmistakably their own.
